Coalition of workers,DEC and JWJ activist were able to defeat the passage of the anti-union Defense of the American Worker resolution. Below is posted a statement by DEC Chair Beth McMillian
Today Commissioner Mary Bolin's resolution against worker's rights was pulled from the County agenda by a 3-2 vote of the Commission.
Our own Commissioner Robin Fisher lead the effort against the resolution with the Unions, their supporters and DEC members filling the chambers.
Please be sure to thank Commissioner Robin Fisher along with his colleges Commissioners Andy Anderson and Chuck Nelson for voting to have the resolution pulled.
I personally want to thank all of our members who signed petitions, contacted their commissioners and were present at today's meeting. Together we will make a difference in Brevard County!
